Mumbai, Feb.2 (ANI): A 15-member Sri Lankan cricket team, led by captain Mahela Jayawardene, but without key bowlers Muttiah Muralitharan and Chaminda Vaas, arrived here this afternoon to take part in a four-match one-day series against India.

The first match of the series will take place at Kolkata's Eden Gardens on February 8.

Muralitharan and Vaas, who have been Sri Lanka's most successful bowlers in the one-day format for over a decade, have been rested by the Lankan selectors ahead of the March-April World Cup in the West Indies.

India and Sri Lanka are expected to finalise their World Cup squads during the series. During the Sri Lankan team's last visit to India, the visitors were blanked out 1-6.
